Day-by-Day Itinerary

8:00 AM: Hotel pickup in Moshi and short drive up into the green Kilimanjaro foothills (approx. 30 min), where coffee and banana plantations cover the slopes. 8:30 AM: Meet your Chagga guide in the village of Marangu (or Kilema, depending on departure). 9:00 AM: Walking tour through the village - visit a blacksmith still hammering out Chagga spears, see a traditional underground cave once used to hide cattle from raiding Maasai, and learn about the ingenious irrigation channels that have watered these farms for centuries. 10:30 AM: Hike along a steep forest trail (1-1.5 hrs) to a hidden waterfall cascading through tropical rainforest. 12:00 PM: Swimming and photos at the plunge pool. 1:00 PM: Walk back to the village and a traditional Chagga lunch cooked over an open fire at a local family home - mtori (beef and banana stew), rice and fresh avocado. 2:30 PM: Visit a working coffee farm - watch the hand-peeling process, roast your own beans and sip the freshest cup of your life. 3:30 PM: Return to Moshi by approximately 4:15 PM.
