Explore Arusha National Park, a hidden gem just 25 minutes from Arusha city. This compact park offers incredible diversity - from the alkaline Momella Lakes teeming with flamingos to lush montane forest filled with colobus monkeys. Enjoy a walking safari along the crater rim, game drives through open meadows, and stunning views of Mount Meru. You may spot giraffes, buffaloes, warthogs, and over 400 bird species. A perfect introduction to Tanzania's wildlife without the long drive.

Day-by-Day Itinerary

7:30 AM: Hotel pickup and short drive (25 min) to Ngongongare Gate. 8:15 AM: Park registration and briefing. 8:30 AM: Morning game drive around the Momella Lakes - alkaline soda lakes ringed with flocks of lesser flamingos, pelicans and hippos bobbing in the shallows. Watch for giraffe, Cape buffalo, warthog and the park's famous reddish bushbuck. 10:30 AM: Guided walking safari with an armed ranger through the fig-tree forest, alive with black-and-white colobus monkeys and blue monkeys. 12:30 PM: Picnic lunch at the spectacular Ngurdoto Crater viewpoint - dubbed 'Little Ngorongoro' - a perfect caldera where buffalo graze 400m below. 2:00 PM: Afternoon game drive through the park's meadows and highland forest toward Mount Meru's lower slopes. Optional canoe add-on on Lake Momella ($15 pp). 4:15 PM: Exit the park. Return to Arusha by approximately 5:00 PM.
