Day-by-Day Itinerary

9:00 AM (morning) or 2:00 PM (afternoon): Hotel pickup. 30-minute visit to the Arusha Declaration Museum to learn about Tanzania's 1967 socialist declaration under Julius Nyerere, the independence struggle and the country's post-colonial path. Drive past the iconic Clock Tower - said to mark the midpoint between Cape Town and Cairo. Walk through the bustling Central Market, a sensory riot of fresh mangoes, sacks of spices, piles of dried fish and tailors clattering at pedal sewing machines. Continue to the colorful Maasai Craft Market for handmade beadwork, carved rhinos, batiks and Tinga Tinga paintings - haggling encouraged! Finish at a local coffee roastery for a cupping session, sampling Arabica beans from Kilimanjaro, Mbeya and the Southern Highlands. Return to your hotel after approximately 3.5 hours.
